In July 2019, an open call was issued. Anyone could submit work for which Rembrandt was a source

of inspiration. More than 200 works were submitted. The professional jury, consisting of art dealer

and Rembrandt expert Jan Six, street art gallery owner Oscar van der Voorn and art journalist

Bertjan ter Braak eventually selected 24 artworks for RMBRNDT.NU.

In the exhibition, street art, 3D printing technique and art in combination with objects are on display

alongside painting and photography. Materials used include fabric, glass, bronze and ceramics.

Surprising and contemporary are key words of the RMBRNDT.NU exhibition. This is confirmed by the

fact that all exhibited artworks were provided with unique QR codes. The QR code gives the visitor

access to all information about the artist, the work of art and purchase information. Additional

photos and videos of how the work was made can also be viewed with a smartphone.

All works in the exhibition were for sale. The exhibition opened on 3 October with an interactive

work of art that makes use of artificial intelligence. The visitor was given the opportunity to become

part of one of Rembrandt's paintings. The work was created by the artist collective Between.Today

from Bangalore, India.

A team of passionate art lovers and connoisseurs, consisting of Noreen van Holstein, Lalita de

Goederen - van Lamsweerde and Inge Vogel, initiated, designed and executed this passion project.

They were supported by Deep Kashyap Deka, Louise ten Bosch, Jolene Prins, and a team of

volunteers: Gerard van Holstein, Clara von Stackelberg, Anna Sara Rumi, Hyunsuh Chin and Siem

Teusink.
